About
Over 15 years immersed in documentary filmmaking and visual arts, following real life wherever it happens across Seoul, Korea, and around the globe in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, Thailand, Myanmar, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Ukraine, Russia, and beyond. Grounded in a Korean heritage and a global vision, I treat the lens simply as a tool to pay attention to people and the world around them.
Originally from Seoul, Korea and now based in New York, my work as a visual artist and cinematographer focuses on direct observation. Whether filming communities in places like Kabul and Damascus or recording stories in complex regions around the globe, I don't try to direct the scene or act like a host. I prefer to let things unfold naturally, capturing unscripted moments as they happen.
That same unvarnished, observational approach guides everything I do—from independent documentary projects to cinematic portraits. My goal is always to keep things real and honest, letting the actual environment and the people in it tell the story.
