Ganges, Varanasi: The River of Life and Death
The Ganges in Varanasi is more than a river; it is a sacred boundary between the physical and the eternal. For over two decades, I have returned to these ancient ghats to document the rhythmic pulse of devotion that defines the spiritual heart of India.
Through an observational lens, I sought to capture the "real life" that unfolds along the water’s edge—the morning ablutions in the rising mist, the silent prayers of the pilgrims, and the orange glow of the cremation fires at night. These photographs are a visual meditation on the quiet dignity of faith and the enduring human spirit. This is a study of a city and a river that exist outside of time, documented with a deep respect for the rituals that have remained unchanged for millennia.
