Hong Kong X: The Vertical Soul
Hong Kong is a city of layers, defined by its extreme density and the constant interplay of light and shadow. In this black and white series, "Hong Kong X," I move away from the famous neon skyline to explore the "real life" hidden within the concrete canyons.
My lens seeks the quiet dignity of the street vendors in Mong Kok, the geometric patterns of the public housing estates, and the intense energy of the harbor crossings. By removing color, I aim to highlight the structural soul of the city—a place where the past and the future are stacked on top of one another. This observational study is a tribute to the resilience and rhythm of a city that never stops moving, captured with a cinematic, worldly perspective.
