Mega City: The Vertical and the Veiled

This collection explores the staggering evolution of Southwest China through its two most iconic hubs: Chongqing and Chengdu. Together, they represent the intersection of extreme modernization and ancient cultural preservation.

In Chongqing, the world’s most vertical city, my lens focuses on the "Mega City" energy—monoliths of glass and steel rising from the mountain mist, where trains pass through buildings and the geography defies logic. Moving to Chengdu, the pace shifts to the "quiet dignity" of the traditional tea houses and the historic Jinli alleys. Through an observational, documentary lens, these photographs capture the contrast between the cinematic, cyberpunk scale of the future and the enduring, human-centric rituals of the past.
