Mega City Shanghai 上海
Shanghai: The Vertical and the Veiled
Shanghai is a city that exists in two dimensions: the soaring, futuristic ambition of the Pudong skyline and the intimate, grounded reality of the Puxi alleyways. This collection, part of the "Mega City" series, is an observational study of a metropolis that serves as a bridge between China’s deep history and its hyper-modern future.
My lens moves through the neon-lit density of the Bund and the high-altitude steel of Lujiazui, seeking the "quiet dignity" that persists in the street-level markets and the traditional Shikumen courtyards. Drawing on over 15 years of global storytelling, these photographs capture the cinematic scale and the human-centric rhythms of a city that never stops evolving. It is a tribute to the textures of the future and the enduring soul of the neighborhood.
