Sri Lanka: The Resilient Island

From the mist-covered tea plantations of the central highlands to the ancient coastal ramparts of Galle, Sri Lanka is a land of profound beauty and quiet resilience. This series is an observational journey through an island defined by its deep spiritual roots and its vibrant, everyday intensity.

Using a documentary lens, I sought to capture the "real life" found in the rhythmic movement of the stilt fishermen, the devotion at the temples of Kandy, and the simple dignity of life along the railway lines. My goal was to document the intersection of Sri Lanka’s lush natural world and its rich cultural heritage, bringing a worldly perspective to the stories that unfold across this resilient island.
