Varanasi 2020: Life on the Edge of Eternity

Varanasi is a city that exists outside of time. In 2020, I returned to its ancient ghats to continue my two-decade-long journey of documenting the spiritual heart of India. My goal was to capture the city’s raw, unfiltered intensity—the cremation fires, the morning prayers, and the daily rhythm of the Ganges.

Through an observational, "NPC" lens, I aimed to document the quiet dignity of the pilgrims and residents as they moved through their sacred rituals. This collection serves as a visual meditation on life, death, and the enduring human spirit. In 2020, even as a global shift was beginning, Varanasi remained a place of profound stillness and constant movement—a testament to a faith that remains unchanged by the outside world.
